The partnership between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) and the local government unit (LGU) of General Luna, Siargao Island continues to strengthen through the support extended for the program’s lined-up community activities.
As part of its assistance, the LGU provided one sack of rice and ₱3,000 cash assistance to each of the 16 implementing barangays to support the Tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) assigned in their respective communities.
The said assistance aims to help ensure the smooth conduct of the program’s 20-day tutorial sessions for learners, alongside community engagement activities with families at the barangay level.
Moreover, the continued support of the LGU has significantly contributed to the effective implementation of program activities across partner communities, particularly in the deployment and assignment of Tutors and YDWs.
The strengthened partnership between the LGU and the program also reflects their shared commitment to promoting foundational literacy, empowering families, and advancing community-based learning initiatives for children and families in General Luna.
