On June 23, 2026, the DSWD Field Office Caraga successfully convened the 2nd Quarter Regional AIDS Assistance Team (RAAT) Meeting, bringing together representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), TESDA Caraga, other national government agencies, and civil society organizations committed to the regional HIV and AIDS response.

The meeting served as a venue for member agencies to present their regional accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and best practices in the implementation of programs and services for Persons Living with HIV (PLHIVs) and key populations. It also provided an opportunity to identify areas for collaboration, address emerging concerns, and strengthen inter-agency coordination in responding to the growing challenges of HIV and AIDS in the region.

As part of the agenda, the DOH Caraga presented the relevant regional issuances on the establishment of the Regional AIDS Assistance Team (RAAT), including its composition, mandates, and the roles and responsibilities of member agencies. The discussion reinforced the importance of a well-coordinated and multi-sectoral approach in ensuring the effective implementation of the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018 at the regional and local levels.
