The DSWD Field Office Caraga, through the Protective Services Division – Sectoral Unit, successfully conducted the 1st Semester LGU Senior Citizen Focal Persons Kumustahan Session, bringing together LGU focal persons across the region in a virtual platform dedicated to learning, collaboration, and strengthening services for older persons.

The session featured a comprehensive discussion on the Rights and Privileges of Senior Citizens under Republic Act No. 9994 (Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010), led by Atty. Florence June D. Bantugan of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Caraga. Participants also received updates on DSWD Caraga’s accomplishments for older persons during the first quarter of 2026, including milestones in the Social Pension Program, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), and the HELP OP (Help Enhance the Living Condition to Protect the Older Persons) initiative.

More than an information-sharing activity, the Kumustahan Session served as a venue for open dialogue where LGU focal persons raised implementation concerns, shared experiences, and exchanged best practices in delivering responsive and compassionate services to senior citizens.
