BUTUAN CITY, CARAGA REGION — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully conducted the Government Internship Program (GIP) Stipend Payout for qualified youth interns, providing timely financial assistance in recognition of their participation and completion of their internship engagement.

The payout forms part of the Department’s continuing efforts to provide young people with meaningful opportunities to gain practical work experience, develop professional competencies, and strengthen their readiness for employment and future career opportunities.

Implemented under the Department’s Protective Services Division – Sectoral Unit, the GIP provides qualified young individuals with an opportunity to experience the workplace while being exposed to actual office operations, public service, and professional responsibilities. Through their internship engagement, the participants were able to contribute to various administrative and program-related functions while learning from government personnel and their respective host offices.

The successful conduct of the stipend payout was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the DSWD Field Office Caraga and the participating Local Government Units (LGUs), particularly in the validation of beneficiary records, completion of documentary requirements, and facilitation of the release of the stipends.

The activity also served as an opportunity to recognize the interns’ commitment and dedication throughout their internship period. Beyond the financial assistance, the program aims to reinforce the value of work experience, accountability, discipline, and public service among the youth.
