BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently oriented the 99 newly hired staff of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program at Almont’s Inland Resort, this city on DSWD vision, mission, goal, programs and services.
The orientation helped capacitate the newly hired on the different aspects of the Pantawid Pamilya implementation.
DSWS Regional Director, Mercedita P. Jabagat, in her welcome message informed the participants that Pantawid Pamilya is a work beyond 24/7. She also emphasized that teamwork is very important especially now that DSWD is employing the convergence strategy of the three (3) core social protection programs – Pantawid pamilya, SEA-K and KALAHI-CIDSS.
Some of the topics discussed during the 3-day orientation were the DSWD Mandate, Reform Agenda, the department’s mission, vision and goals which was discussed by Ms. Leah T. Quintana, Regional Information Officer; Mr. Ramil M. Taculod, Focal for Convergence talked about the Programs and services and DSWD Strategy on Convergence; Ms. Angelita B. Amista, Chief of the Operation Division and the Deputy Program Coordinator of Pantawid Pamilya tackled the concept and design of Pantawid Pamilya and discussed the terms and reference of the newly hired staff. Pantawid Pamilya systems focal Erlyn Salinas, Fe Calo and Rolly Quiban discussed the Beneficiray Update System (BUS), Compliance Verification System (CVS) and Grievance Redress System (GRS), respectively.
Out of the A total 99 newly hired staff; 57 are Social Welfare Assistants (SWA), 15 Project Development Officer II (PDO II), 4 Project Development Officer 1 (PDO I), 12 Administrative Assistants II (AA II), 9 Municipal Link Officers (MLOs), I Training Specialist 1 and 1 Human Resource Officer (HRO). # # # (Social Marketing Unit)
