BUTUAN CITY – The theme of this year’s Adoption Consciousness Week, “Isulong! Legal Na Pag-Aampon” speaks of the Department’s intensified campaign for legal adoption. The whole country celebrated the event on February 4-10.

In line with the celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Caraga Region conducted several activities to intensify information dissemination on legal adoption such radio guestings and adoption help desks in the provinces within the region, distribution of brochures on adoption, foster care and minors traveling abroad, and adoption forums.

In Butuan City, the adoption forum was attended by prospective adoptive parents, representatives of different government agencies like Philhealth, National Statistics Office, Civil Service Commission, Philippine National Police, Department of Education and members of the media.

Atty. Josefe Sorrera-Ty spoke about the Domstic Adoption Law or the Republic Act No. 8552, An Act Establishing the Rules and Policies On the domestic Adoption Of Filipino Children And for Other Purposes. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
