BUTUAN CITY – Five Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran Associations (SKAs) in Barangay Sto. Tomas, Loreto, Agusan del Sur received a total amount of P475, 000.00 as capital seed fund for their livelihood on February 2, 2012 in a simple ceremony held in the barangay’s covered court.

A total of 100 individuals who also receive cash grant from Pantawid Pamilya benefited this capital assistance.  The government targeted the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries from Set 1 and Set 2 areas to be the recipient of this livelihood assistance to prepare them in the eventual ending of the Pantawid Pamilya in the year 5 of the project implementation.

It is the government’s vision that even without Pantawid Pamilya cash grant the family can sustain their children’s education and family’s health and other needs through this livelihood assistance, which is lent to them without interest and collateral and payable for one year. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
