BUTUAN CITY – A total amount of P3 Million was released early today, September 9, 2013 by the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Caraga’s Department of Social Welfare and Development office to 300 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.
The financial support will help these beneficiaries who will be graduating from the Pantawid Program next year to have another
source of livelihood so that continues education; good health and nutritional condition of children are ensured.
DSWD Caraga assistant regional director for operations Mita G. Lim and Las Nieves mayor Avelina S. Rosales distributed the checks to the beneficiaries. Vice Mayor Manuel N. Biong together with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan witnessed the activity.
The following are the SEA-K Associations (SKA) /SEA-K Groups (SKG) who received the P3 M to fun
d their various projects on farm financing, school supplies and sari-sari store: Barangay Ambacon SKAs are Flordeliz, Sun Flower and Lovely with 20, 15 and 15 members, respectively, with a total amount of P500,000.00; Barangay Casiklan has five SKA such as Water Lily, Coconut and Rose with 20 members, Kalamunggay, 25 members and Lemon, 15 with a total amount of P 1,000.00. Barangay Durian has two beneficiary SKAs, Everlasting with 30 members and Daisy, 15 members with a total of P450, 000.00; Barangay Ibuan also has two SKA, Com Farmers and Ibuan Farmers with 15 and 20 members, respectively having a total of capital seed fund of P350, 000.00; Barangay Lingayao with Tinadahang Pinoy SKG with 10 member and received a total amount of P100, 000.00; Barangay Marcos Calo has Women’s Basket SKA with 25 members and got a total assistance of P 250,000.00; Barangay Mat-i has Kalambuan SKA with 30 members and with P 300,000.00 total amount received; Barangay Balungagan has Sampaguita SKG with 5 members and received a total of P 50,000.00.
Mayor Avelina S. Rosales and ARDO Mita G. Lim were one in exhorting the beneficiaries to use the funds given to them for the intended projects that they proposed. The two lady leaders also enjoined them in managing the projects well and make it flourish.
The beneficiaries through the three group leaders namely: Wilma Calaga, Nenian Silao and Nelia Obita, expressed their gratitude to the government for the support given them. The three women leaders also appealed to their co-beneficiaries for cooperation and support for them to be able to make their projects succeed in augmenting their family income and make their lives a lot better.### (Social Marketing Unit)
