Butuan City – One hundred twenty-six (126) individuals volunteered today for the packing of DSWD relief goods in barangay Tiniwisan, Butuan City. Sixty-eight (68) of them are staff and scholars of Butuan City Congressman Law Fortun and Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand Amante, eighteen (18) are from the Mormons’ Church while forty (40) private individuals also volunteered in the packing of relief goods.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga aims to reach thirty-one thousand (31,000) family packs ready to be augmented to requesting Local Government Units (LGUs).

The Field Office continues to receive requests for relief augmentation from different LGUs. To date, the Office has released 14,912 family packs worth Php 4,092,419.12 to thirteen (13) LGUs. A total of 5,000 family packs are to be delivered to the municipalities of Agusan del Sur namely Esperanza with 3,000 family packs, San Francisco with 1,000 family packs, Bayugan City with 500 family packs and Rosario with 500 family packs.

DSWD Field Office Quick Response Team with three (3) shifts in a day together with the Municipal Action Teams (MAT) leaders, community based-workers, and project-based staff continues to monitor the situation on twenty-four (24) hour basis. ### (Social Marketing Unit/ Stella Maris V. Barcelon)
