Butuan City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga augmented another 570 family food packs to the evacuees currently housed at Surigao del Sur Sports Complex, Tandag City.

The said augmentation amounts to Php238,442.40 and each family pack is composed of six (6) kilos rice, eight (8) canned goods, 8 noodles, and 8 3-in-1 coffee.

Last September 5, 2015, the agency had distributed 366 family packs amounting to Php 153,097.00.

DSWD staff have been conducting intake interview with the affected individuals.

Non-food items such as blankets, mosquito nets, slippers, toothpaste, laundry and bath soaps amounting to Php62,406.68  were also distributed to the affected families.

As to present, a total of 570 families with 2, 778 individuals still remain at the said evacuation center. The evacuees are coming from the municipalities of Lianga, San Agustin,Tago, San Miguel, and Marihatag. ###(SocialMarketing Unit/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
