Community volunteers from Balobo, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur perform bayanihan (spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to achieve a particular goal) to complete their 420 linear-meters concrete pathway (1meter in width, 100mm thick) which would be their main access going to their barangay road.
Prior to having the pathway, the community had problems with their access road, especially during the rainy seasons, where the pathway turns muddy, making it hard for them, especially their students to take.
The community was able to pull-off their sub-project implementation, through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services / Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) project, with just Php373,349.00 – funding focused for the acquisition of materials. The community people on the other hand, rendered their free services working as laborers to make the sub-project possible.
PAMANA is the national government’s convergence program that extends development interventions to isolated, hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities, ensuring that they are not left behind.
