Staff of the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga converse with Regional Director Alexander Makinano (in blue) of the Commission on Population regarding the capability of the said agency in protecting the Listahanan database containing personal information of poor households in Caraga.

The said visit, technically called as inspection meeting, is part of the requirement of the data sharing guidelines (anchored on the provisions of RA 10173 otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012).

After the meeting, which happened on October 19, 2017 at POPCOM Regional Office in Butuan City, RD Makinano affirmed to comply all the requirements since the database will be used to identify beneficiaries for the unmet need for family planning. This information will also be discussed in the upcoming Regional Conference with the Population Officers giving priority in reaching out the poor households in Caraga. ###(ABEGAIL R.
