The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga and the Local Government Unit (LGU) Mainit, Surigao del Norte, inked on August 11, 2021 the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Disaster Vulnerability Assessment and Profiling Project (DVAPP) Data Sharing partnership. This was made possible with the signing entered into by DSWD Field Office Caraga OIC-Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen and Municipality of Mainit Mayor Crisanta O. Mondano.

Despite of the restrictions imposed due to COVID threats, the agency took the MOA signing virtually just to realize the significant event. The MOA would put into action the process of digitizing the Disaster Assistance Family Access Card (DAFAC) into DSWD CARES Card or Comprehensive Assistance for Disaster Response and Early Recovery Services. On top of its goal to ensure accuracy and precision of beneficiary tracking, calculation, and distribution of relief supplies, the digitization also establishes a clear database on the profile of families at the LGU level. Such effort is geared to strengthen community preparedness at the barangay level, especially during disaster operations.
