OIC-RD Ramel F. Jamen shows his message of support to the four (4) showcase LGUs during the Engagement Planning Workshop.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga forged Memorandum of Agreements with four (4) showcase Local Government Units during the conduct of the Engagement Planning Workshop, to formalize the implementation of Social Welfare and Development (SWD) programs reflected in their Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs) in line with the Executive Order No. 138, series of 2021, or the Mandanas-Garcia Ruling.

DSWD Field Office Caraga Officer-In-Charge Ramel F. Jamen headed the MOA signing.

“Now that we have forged this partnership, we should help and support each other since we only have the same clienteles, and they are the poor and vulnerable sectors in our society,” Jamen said in his message.

The MOA signing was headed by OIC-RD Jamen, and witnessed by OIC-ARDO Jean Paul Parajes, and OIC-ARDA Ramil M. Taculod.

The four LGUs identified are the following: the Province of Agusan del Norte, Cabadbaran City, Trento, Agusan del Sur, and Carmen, Surigao del Sur. The selected LGUs shall pursue implementation of SWD programs, and shall institute policies, systems, and mechanisms that can further facilitate LSWDO assumption of functions, services, and facilities that have been fully devolved.

The Engagement Planning Workshop was attended by selected Regional Technical Assistance and Monitoring Team (RTAMT) leaders, members of the Regional Management Committee, and staff from the Legal Services, and Policy Development and Planning Section (PDPS) who provided timely information, inputs and/or recommendations to the top management TWG for smooth transition and full implementation of the devolution. ###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
