Under Republic Act 10868 also known as “An Act Honoring and Granting Addition Benefits and Privileges to Filipino Centenarians, and other purposes, or otherwise known as the “Centenarian Act of 2016” the government acknowledges the Filipino Centenarians whether residing in the country or abroad in their contribution of shaping and upholding the values as Filipino citizens. Based on the guidelines, the Agency encourages the centenarian’s family or relatives to have the cash gift deposited in the bank for emergency purposes. And in the case of the death of the centenarian, cash gift will be received by the children or nearest kin as a sort of legacy. Either way, to ensure its significance and purpose, a strict monitoring will be conducted by the Project Development Officer of Centenarian Program to look after the cash incentive.

In Kitcharao, ADN, children of the deceased centenarian received the posthumous certificate and cash gift cheque handed to them by Kitcharao Mayor Aristotle E. Montante.

Currently, pending centenarians of year 2021 are being prioritized. The Department continuously encourages the family and relatives with grandparents to submit requirements as soon as their relatives reach 99 years old to prevent delays in getting the centenarian’s cash gift on their 100th year.
