About 62 beneficiaries in the municipalities of San Jose, Loreto, and Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands received livelihood assistance amounting to PHP 15,000 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Caraga, recently.
The distribution of livelihood assistance to the said beneficiaries was made possible through the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program’s Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) – a recovery program of the DSWD-SLP that aims to extend financial assistance to low-income individuals and families whose livelihoods have been severely affected by the pandemic.
DTI Caraga, through its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Project (PPG), had also initiated skills trainings and mentoring activities for the beneficiaries such as e-commerce and financial recording to ensure that the recipient micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) are fully-equipped and prepared in managing their livelihoods.
Beneficiaries of this livelihood convergence project have been profiled under DTI-PPG and DSWD-SLP. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
