In its continuous effort to eradicate hunger and poverty in the region, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Regional Program Management Office, co-facilitated the Renewal of Marketing Agreement Signing Ceremony between the Cabadbaran City District Jail and the Kamalaka Irrigators’ Association at the Kamalaka IA Hall, Cabadbaran City on April 22, 2022.
One of the strategic measures of the program is linking different agencies and facilities, especially those engaged in the provision of Institutional Feeding Program like the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to the community-based organizations (CBOs) involved in agriculture production.
Through this renewal of the marketing agreement, Kamalaka IA will continue to supply eggs and vegetable products to the jail center as part of the food requirements of their Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
EPAHP is a national convergence initiative under the Inter-Agency Task Force “Zero Hunger” banner program. Its main objectives are to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities – including the marginalized communities.
DSWD, through the EPAHP, will continue to ensure convergence with and among communities and NGAs, and NGO/CSOs/People’s Organizations to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities, including marginalized communities.
