The Engineering Unit of KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office Caraga conducts subproject implementation (SPI) monitoring in August to ensure that processes and constructions of projects are done in the right way and within the set standards and specifications. Through the said monitoring, issues that may affect the quality, timeline, or budget will be identified and mitigated.
The SPI monitoring were conducted in barangays San Nicolas, Labnig, and Causwagan in Talacogon town; and Barangays Cecilia and Don Alejandro in San Luis, all in Agusan del Sur province. In Agusan del Norte province, the SPI monitoring was conducted in Barangay Anticala in Butuan City; Barangay San Antonio in RTR; and Barangay Casiclan in Las Nieves. Moreover, the same activity was held in Barangay Javier in Barobo, Surigao del Sur province.
Among the subprojects monitored are construction of drainage canals, construction of concrete pathways, construction of tribal center, and improvement of multipurpose building for isolation facility.
KALAHI-CIDSS, otherwise known as the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services, is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the Philippine Government being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It uses the community-driven development (CDD) approach, a globally recognized strategy for achieving service delivery, poverty reduction, and good governance outcomes.
