In preparation for the establishment of the Mindanao Disaster Resource Center (MDRC) and in the enhancement of the Humanitarian Chain Supply Management, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducts a 2-day Orientation (October 6-7, 2022) on Warehouse Management Cum Review for Logistics Prepositioning, at Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City.

The said activity is participated by the Local Social Welfare and Development Officers (LSWDO), Warehouse Focal Persons, and Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers (LDRRMO) of the municipalities of Siargao Island and Province of Dinagat Islands where the Field Office is bound to preposition its augmentation support.

Donations Head Rene Solon and Regional Resource Operation Head Engr. Raul Sabandal, who are serving as resource persons for the said training, provided inputs on specific safety precautions, production management, and in finalizing the Memorandum of Agreement for the prepositioning of humanitarian cargoes.

Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul S. Parajes graced the activity, commending the participant’s endeavor in serving their constituents especially during disasters.

During the second day participants visited the nearest Regional Warehouse of the Field Office in Butuan to benchmark its methods and processes. Another batch of LSWDOs and LDRRMOs from Agusan Del Sur and Surigao Del Sur will participant on the second batch of the orientation activity.
