BUTUAN CITY – In its effort to eradicate hunger and alleviate poverty through the provision of capacity-building activities, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a two-day training on digital marketing and Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) Registration on November 14-17, 2022 at the VCDU Prince Hotel Grand Convention Hall in Butuan City.
The training, initiated by the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program, aims to help farmers understand digital marketing and how they can utilize it as a way to sell their products and find potential markets/consumers. Aside from digital marketing, the farmer participants were also equipped on how to register and manage their PhilGEPS accounts.
Participants of the said trainings were farmers and women of community-based organizations (CBOs) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) associations from the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur. Further, the participants were also divided into two batches to provide a more conducive learning environment for the CBOs and SLPAs.
Technical staff from the Department of Trade and Industry Caraga and the Department of Budget and Management were invited to serve as resource persons during the said training
Further, DSWD-EPAHP instigated the training with the hopes of empowering the CBOs and SLPAs through digital tools and technologies and bringing them towards sustainable agriculture and growth.
EPAHP is a convergence project of the national government that aims to mitigate hunger, ensure food safety and security, and reduce the poverty rate in the country.(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
