Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Regional Joint Gender-based Violence and Child Protection (GBV-CP) Coordination Working Group, in partnership with the Association of DSWD Social Workers (ADSWI) – Caraga Chapter, equips its first batch of Social Workers and Gender and Development (GAD) focal persons on Protection Mainstreaming from February 02 – 03, 2023 at the Almont Beach Resort, Surigao City.

The activity is part of the Re-calibrated Plan of the coordination working group in strengthening the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Protection Cluster in Caraga. The sessions focused on the nature of IDP Protection, Elements of Protection Mainstreaming, Gender-based Violence in Emergencies, Child Protection in Emergencies, Psychological First Aid (PFA), and Coordination Mechanism in Protection Mainstreaming.

Apart from strengthening the cluster, DSWD Caraga also prepares the participants to become pool of PFA providers and Resource Persons in mainstreaming protection in their areas of responsibility.
