Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) Caraga conducts Preventive and Redemptive group discussion on Pre-marital Sex to Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) residents of the center on, February 23, 2023 at Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

RRCY invited Ms. Princess Jane S. Cahig, Training Specialist II of DSWD FO Caraga and Spiritual Coach Pr. John David R. Bastillada as resource speakers for the said topics.

During the discussions, the residents were able to understand the impact of pre-marital sexual behavior among adolescents such as unwanted pregnancy, teenage pregnancy, abortion, STIs, HIV/AIDS, regrets, guilt, loss of self-respect, depression, loss of family support, substance abuse and even suicidal death.

The activity conducted is in line with the national celebration of the 27th Child Sexual Abuse Awareness (CSAW) week with the theme “Stop online and offline sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Act now!”.
