To ensure readiness in providing communication support during disaster response operations, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a Pre-Orientation on the Procured Emergency Telecommunications (ETC) equipment, Tuesday, May 16, at the Conference Hall of Field Office Caraga.
ETC orientation aims to capacitate the Agency’s Quick Response Team (QRT) members, staff from the Disaster Response Information Management Section, 4Ps Division, General Services Section, and Regional Information and Communication Technology Management Section (RICTMS) in the proper usage, features, and functionality of ETC to ensure its durability.
With the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) personnel, ETC’s supplier Thunder Defense as the resource persons, the objectives for this orientation were met. The participants were allowed to experience installing and using the ETC with the guidance of Thunder Defense’s resource persons.
“The disaster we are facing is evolving that also needs an evolved approach to address the challenges and one of them is what we are going to do today – equipping every one of you with the proper usage of our newly purchased telecommunication equipment,” Assistant Regional Director for Administration Atty. Faizal Padate said in his welcome message.
