DSWD conducts CCCM training in Mainit town

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a 3-day Camp Coordination and Camp Management Training (CCCM), on May 17-19, 2023 at the Kasili Convention Center, Mainit, Surigao del Norte.

The activity was attended by 30 participants comprising both barangay officials and other local staff. This is in connection to the relentless efforts of the Agency in equipping the Local Government Units (LGU) in managing evacuation centers.

The participants were working at their proposed evacuation center.

During the training, the participants were taught about technicalities in ensuring the protection of the residents in the camp – ensuring their safety and security.

The training comprehensively discussed four modules, all of which involved simulation activities specifically for establishing evacuation centers.

One of the groups presented their output on how their evacuation center would look like.

Field Office Caraga will continue to provide technical assistance to the LGUs to prevent any untoward incidents in the evacuation centers, creating safer and better-coordinated humanitarian assistance during disasters in the region.
