After thorough validation and verification, 404 students from Butuan City receive educational assistance through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Program of DSWD Field Office (FO) Caraga.
Protective Services Division (PSD) Chief Jessie Catherine B. Aranas took the opportunity to explain to the students the rationale of the said assistance, and the programs and services of the Agency as a whole. Moreover, Aranas reminded beneficiaries of the assistance’s purpose, reminding them to use it for the kind of assistance that it is, and hoped it will help lighten their financial loads.
Beneficiaries were identified by the local government unit (LGU) of Butuan City, and was validated by DSWD FO Caraga through the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU).
Butuan City Councilor Rey Bokingo Desiata attended the said activity and extended gratitude to DSWD FO Caraga and the office of Senator Imee Marcos for the efforts exerted in helping Butuanons in need.
AICS serves as a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crises such as illness or death of a family member, natural and man-made disasters, and other crisis situations.
