Meanwhile, partner-stakeholders signed a commitment of support to the Program as well as participated in the symbolic breaking of chain that represents the intergenerational cycle of poverty. The participants broke the digital chain using an application accessed through their mobile phones.
“Maganda itong symbolic commitment ng ating mga partners; [kasi] ang ating long-term goal is to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty. Tulungan natin yong mga bata na to sa kanilang pangarap na makapagtapos sa kanilang pagaaral. (The symbolic commitment of our partners is relevant as our long-term goal is to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty. Let us help these children achieve their dream of finishing school). These children should not stop in dreaming to finish their education,” Director Gabuya said.
“Because, as I’ve always said, ito’ng mga batang makakapagtapos, hindi na po nila ipamamana ang kahirapan sa kanilang mga anak at kaapo-apohan (these children who will finish their studies will no longer pass on the hardships they experienced to their own children and grandchildren. This is where Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program will contribute,” Director Gabuya added.
