The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) pays courtesy visit to DSWD Field Office Caraga as they hold a Training of Trainers on the Guidebook of Child Participation and Local Children’s Association this June 5-9, 2023 in Butuan City.
Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga welcomed CWC, headed by Ms. Ma. Ruth Estrellieta Marayag, PO IV, along with partners from ASMAE Philippines, Unang Hakbang Foundation, Inc., Ka
patiran Kaunlaran Foundation, Inc., and Ateneo Human Rights Center.
The said guidelines utilized in the training were crafted to cater the needs of practitioners working with, by, and for children, specifically on how to involve children in addressing matters affecting them and for them to have a meaningful and genuine participation at all levels of governance.
Moreover, CWC envisioned this guidebook as a tool to prepare children to become leaders of the future and kick start their roles as children representatives aiming to mainstream their participation in the program cycle of Local Government Units (LGU).
Dir. Dollaga expressed full support for the said activity being DSWD Caraga’s commitment to ensure quality service for the people especially for the young and vulnerable but capable and full of potential.
