To help the people understand more the programs and services of the Agency, as well as promote health and wellness, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted the Information Caravan on Wheels in the municipalities of Claver, Placer, Tubod, and Surigao City on June 19-23, 2023.
The local government units gathered over 247 Barangay Council officers and members, health workers, childcare workers, and residents to participate in the information caravan led by the Social Marketing Unit of the Field Office. Cyclists Involved for Change and Development, the Agency’s local group of bike enthusiasts, joined the activity and assisted in distributing information, education, and communication materials.
The caravan is an advocacy initiative of the Field Office designed to inform and educate the communities about the different programs and services. Other than this, the activity was also an effort to bring the programs and services of the Department closer to the people.
During the activity, some participants raised issues and concerns about the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens, Centenarian Program, Unconditional Cash Transfer, and job vacancies.
Aside from the Information Caravan on Wheels, the unit also expanded its advocacy initiatives in the province of Agusan del Sur and participated in the Serbisyo sa Naliyagan para sa Katawhan (Partner-Stakeholders One-Stop Shop) during the 2023 Naliyagan Festival on June 12-16, 2023.
Through these activities, the Field Office aims to empower every Caraganon by providing them with the right and verified information about the programs and services of the Agency. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
