The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Policy and Plans Division, conducted a 2-day training on Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) for Program Managers and Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officers on June 21-22, 2023, at the Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.
The training is the Field Office’s effort to further its provision of adequate and appropriate services to clients in the region by determining the relevance and fulfillment of implemented policies, plans, programs, and activities centered on social welfare and development.
Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga encouraged the participants to apply and share their learnings with other staff. “Continue your enthusiasm and interest to learn because I know team Caraga is always driven and has the humility to listen and to accept something new and embrace change,” Director Dollaga said.
Policy Development and Planning Bureau-Research and Evaluation Division Technical Staff Racquel Celeste and Krizelda Grace Sasi and Policy Development and Planning Section Head of Field Office Caraga Eval Makinano served as resource persons during the training. The resource persons emphasized that monitoring and evaluation are critical, contributing to every organization’s information, policy, and decision-making, particularly in DSWD.
With the help of the training, participants should have positive behavioral change towards result-based monitoring and conscious utilization of monitoring and evaluation tools and systems that provide the management with assessment results used as a basis in the policy-making and program implementation.
