The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, specifically the members of the Men Opposed to VAW Everywhere (MOVE) and Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPATs) participates in the celebration of Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week 2023.
The Advocacy Run Activity dubbed as “Bisig-Kleta” headed by the Regional Alternative Child Care (RACCO) aims to disseminate public awareness on legal adoption and protecting children’s rights through biking.
The activity also aims to further establish the existence of the National Authority of Child Care (NACC) and the regional counterpart that is RACCO when RA 11624 Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act was signed into law last January 06, 2022 by then president Rodrigo Duterte. Moreover, the advocacy is inviting potential adoption and foster care parents, and adoptive parents to apply and show support.
PRO-13, Butuan City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Butuan Cardio Cycling participated in the activity in support of the advocacy.
An Adoption Help Desk was also open at Robinsons and Gaisano Malls to cater to queries.
