In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) celebration every July of each year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, together with other line agencies, joins the nation in the NDRM kick-off celebration today, July 1, 2023.

As part of the kick-off celebration spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Caraga, a run for resilience took off at 4:00 o’clock early morning, which the Agency actively participated in.

After the race, a Thanksgiving Mass commenced. “As we celebrate NDRM this month, we have the opportunity to raise awareness, educate, and empower individuals and communities to take proactive steps in disaster preparedness. On behalf of the Angels in Red Vests, thank you for standing with us until today in moving towards our common goal – delivering quality service and building a stronger and more resilient Filipino community”, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul S. Parajes said during his message.

RDO Jean Paul Parajes welcomed the participants during the NDRM kick-off.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme, “BIDAng Pilipino: Building a stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience”.

A short Thanksgiving mass transpired right after the run for resilience.
