Donned in a red coat, OIC-Division Chief Melanie Juan, emphasized the roles and responsibilities of DSWD as the vice chair for the response cluster.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, together with other partner agencies, participated in the Usapang Resilience through the ‘Kapihan with PIA’, on July 14, 2023, at the SM City of Butuan.

Represented by DRMD OIC-Division Chief Melanie Juan, the Agency underscored the roles of DSWD, which are to lead the three response clusters: Food and Non-Food Items (F/NFI), Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) protection. Also, during disasters, the DSWD’s role is to augment support to the Local Government Unit (LGU) as the need arises.

Usapang Resilience is part of the month-long activity of this year’s National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) celebration, stressing that the well-being of every Filipino is well taken care of as the agencies continue building a disaster-resilient nation.
