July 17-23, 2023 is the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the theme, “Persons with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future Where No One is Left Behind”.

In the continued efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga to leave no one behind, the sectoral unit in-charge of the Persons With Disabilities affairs focused on amplifying the advocacy by conducting various activities.

An Access Audit pursuant to Batas Pambansa 344 or the Accessibility Law in the month of July 2023 participated by different national government agencies (NGAs) – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was conducted.

Access Audit. DSWD Caraga holds access audit in NGA offices in line with the Accessibility Law.

Moreover an orientation on Disability Sensitivity to employees of DSWD Caraga. Representatives from the different offices of the Field Office participated in the activity, ensuring that while the staff works with utmost dedication to delivering social welfare and protective services to the people, they do so with sensitivity, especially towards Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The culmination of the celebration will be conducted by the end of July through recognizing the Most Disability Friendly LGUs.
