In line with the 49th Nutrition Month Celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office (FO) Caraga, through the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), facilitates Training on Basic Nutrition and Meal Planning – July 11-14, 2023.
SFP, being DSWD’s response to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in ending poverty and hunger and in promoting good health and well-being, doubles its efforts by empowering partners from the different local government units (LGUs) in the region. Moreover, the Agency recognizes the significant role of LGUs as the SFP’s implementing arm.
The discussion on basic essential nutrition and meal planning highlights the importance of food components and proper diet to counter health issues, especially under-nutrition – information vital for implementing SFP in child development centers.
Focal persons from the Surigao del Norte, Province of Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, and Agusan del Norte completed the training in two batches (July 11-12 and July 13-14).
