The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga leads the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Regional Committee on Disability Affairs (RCDA) — August 1, 2023.

Discussions on updates, issues, and concerns regarding the Persons With Disabilities sector were tackled.

Moreover, it was an avenue to give recognition to the Province of Dinagat Islands and the Municipality of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur for being the Most Disability Friendly Province and Municipality respectively—culminating the recent celebration of the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week last July 17-23.

Furthermore, the following national line agencies (NGAs) were acknowledged after participating in the Access Audit pursuant to Batas Pambansa 344 or the Accessibility Law in the month of July 2023: Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Protective Services Division (PSD) Chief Jessie Catherine B. Aranas, in her message, emphasized that true success is only achieved when it is inclusive, leaving no one behind—grateful for the efforts of partners and stakeholders for doing their best in making an inclusive environment for all—resonating to this year’s theme “Persons with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future Where No One is Left Behind”.
