DSWD Field Office Caraga conducts Roll-out training on Enhanced Population Awareness and Family Life Orientation (E-PAFLO) Module in Butuan City in August 9-11, 2023.
In response to the youth’s information and education needs on the effects of rapid population growth on the standard of living for Filipinos, the Unlad Kabataan Program (UKP) created the Population Awareness and Family Life Orientation (PAFLO) Module in the 1970s and further enhanced the material in 2017.
The activity participated by the Youth Focal Persons from the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) in the region and other young service providers, aimed to foster knowledge and information about the upgraded PAFLO Module to further their capacity in providing effective services to the youth sector. Furthermore, to better address the needs and circumstances facing today’s youth in terms of sexual and reproductive health.
“Rest assured na kani siya nga Training of Trainers magmabungahon labi na sa among tagsa tags aka mga munisipyo. Matod pa sa gisulti ni Jose Rizal, kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, so let us do our part – kailangan nato silang i-guide and kailangan nato silang i-empower [ang mga kabatan-onan], (Rest assured that this training of trainers will be utilized in our municipalities. According to Jose Rizal, the youth is the hope of this country, so let us do our part in guiding and empowering the youth),” Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) of Bayabas, Surigao del Sur said in his message on behalf of the participants.
The Field Office firmly believes that “The youth is the hope of the country,” thus strengthening its response to challenges to protect and cultivate that hope.
