The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has started the Special Assessment of unassessed Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in the region.
This assessment is in line with the directives of Secretary Rex Gatchalian after finding out that there are Pantawid beneficiaries who were not found or were not-matched in the Listahanan 3 database.
With the hiring of 6 Area Supervisors and 32 Enumerators, the Department started the assessment with the conduct of courtesy visits with the Governors, Mayors, City/ Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (C/MSWDOs), the Philippine National Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in their assigned areas.
For Caraga Region, a total of 11,466 4Ps households are subject for assessment. Of these numbers, Agusan del Sur tops the list of targets with 4,260 households, followed by Surigao del Sur with 2,562 households, Agusan del Norte with 2,031, Surigao del Norte with 1,984, and Province of Dinagat Islands with 629 4Ps households.
According to Regional Field Coordinator Adelito Mendoza, this assessment differs from the regular assessment of Listahanan because enumerators have a list of 4Ps beneficiaries subject to be interviewed. He also clarifies that the assessment is only to update the information of the 4Ps households and to be included in the Listahanan 3 database, but that doesn’t guarantee that they will be reinstated or included in the said program.
“Our enumerators’ job is to locate and interview the 11,466 4Ps beneficiaries who are on the list of unassessed households during the Listahanan 3rd round assessment. The said 4Ps beneficiaries will be interviewed using the Household Assessment Form (HAF) for one month,’’ Mendoza said.
It can be recalled that Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga met with the Listahanan Field Workers during the 1st day of training on November 13, 2023 at the Pietros Square, Butuan City. She emphasized the importance of conducting courtesy visits prior to the house-to-house assessment.
