Surigao City, March 15, 2024 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, under the leadership of Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, made significant strides during the Province of Surigao del Norte Committee Hearing on Social Services held on March 14, 2024, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Conference Hall.
Director Dollaga presented a comprehensive overview of the Agency’s Reintegration Plan for the Socorro Bayanihan Services Incorporated (SBSI) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Sitio Kapihan, Socorro, Surigao del Norte. The presentation outlined the various initiatives and services tailored to address the needs of the affected community. The plan received unanimous approval from the committee chair and its members, who commended the Field Office for its steadfast commitment from the outset of the issue.
Moreover, Dir. Dollaga contributed significant insights on several agenda items, enhancing the discourse on critical programs such as the Risk Resiliency Program, Social Pension Program, Construction of Senior Citizen’s Center, and the Centenarian Program.
The active participation of DSWD Caraga in the Committee Hearing is in accordance to the directive of Sec. Rex Gatchalian which underscores the agency’s dedication to addressing social issues and ensuring the welfare of vulnerable communities.
