Balay Dangpanan sa Cagwait is a residential care facility that provides temporary shelter and protective custody to women and children in need of special protection established for the prevention and management of gender-based violence in the municipality.
As a developmental partner, DSWD delivered a strong statement of support for the local government’s initiative, through a message by OIC Division Chief (Policy and Plans Division) and concurrent Standards Section Head Elsa Jamora.
“We applaud the LGU for their foresight and dedication in establishing this institution. This is a testament to the collective commitment of the local government to provide safe haven to those in need during times of crisis,” Jamora said.
“The DSWD gives its full support of this initiative and promises to continue to collaborate and assist (LGU) to ensure that the operations of this Balay Dalangpanan will become a success. The department’s task is to ensure that this center maintains its standards according to its guidelines. Let us work hand in hand to create a community where no one is left behind,” Jamora added.
