The Association of DSWD Social Workers Inc. (ADSWI) Caraga convenes for Knowledge Sharing Session on Social Work Issuance cum Filipino Social Work Day Celebration, July 08, 2024, at Watergate Pavilion, Butuan City.

 

Part of the activity is the Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between DSWD Caraga and ADSWI Caraga administered by DSWD Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Tristan Telen, Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul Parajes, and ADSWI Caraga President Jessie Catherine Aranas.

 

Moreover, the ASEAN and the Hanoi Roadmap for Strengthening Social Service Workforce were discussed, along with Administrative Order (AO) 3, series of 2023 DSWD implementation on the Hanoi Declaration 2024-2028, shared by OIC-DC Catherine Grace M. Lagunday of Policy Development and Planning Bureau.

 

Furthermore, DSWD Field Office Caraga took the opportunity to strengthen the advocacy against trafficking in persons through ADSWI by bringing together social workers to support the National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month and World Day Against Trafficking 2024.

 

Reaffirming the significance of the activity, Undersecretary Denise Florence Bragas, MD expressed her message of support.

 

“With the DSWD employing the huge number of Social Workers, it is but right to organize the Social Workers within the agency. You play significant roles in ensuring that all our social welfare programs and services are provided to the target sectors to achieve the vision of the agency under our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan which is to establish an empowered society where the poor, vulnerable, and the disadvantaged sectors have immediate and equitable access to opportunities for an improved quality of life,” USec Bragas said.

 

The event fosters collaboration and promotes professional development among DSWD Caraga social workers while commemorating the valuable contributions of Filipino social workers to society.
