The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully conducted its payout for the partner beneficiaries of Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished or the Project LAWA at BINHI in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, on July 11, 2024.

 

402 partner beneficiaries from the barangays of Bigaan and Tagasaka claimed their Php7,400 compensation for their 20-day training and work.

 

“Nalipay kami naglantaw sa tubo sa amo tagtrabaho. Nanubo na ang gulay ug andam na adto Harbison. Pasalamat kami sa DSWD ani na programa nga makatabang sa amua pagkaon nga panginahanglanon [We are delighted to see the progress of our work. The vegetables have begun to sprout and are almost ready harvest. We are grateful to DSWD for this program, which will help us address our food needs,” said Alberto Simbajon, a partner beneficiary from Barangay Bigaan, when asked about his view on the project’s progress.

The Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished, or Project LAWA at BINHI, is one of the programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga that aims to address food and water insecurity.
