The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga is currently conducting the Orientation on the Comprehensive Program for Children, Families, Indigenous People, and other Individuals in Street Situations (COMPRE PROGRAM) today, July 12, 2024 at the Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.

On behalf of Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, Protective Services Division (PSD) Chief Jessie Catherine Aranas, together with Jessamine Penalosa, OIC-Unit Head of the Family and Community Welfare Unit Sectoral Programs Division of the Program Management Bureau from the DSWD Central Office, led the orientation attended by selected Provincial/ Local Government Units (P/LGUs) in Caraga Region.

In her welcome message, DC Aranas emphasized the importance of protecting and promoting the well-being of vulnerable individuals in the streets. She also underlined the agency’s commitment to assisting its partner-stakeholders in reducing the emerging risks and vulnerabilities of street dwellers.

“As an organized institution that is concerned of the well-being of the people, we strive to protect and promote human dignity while working with integrity in delivering our humble services to our beneficiaries, despite the scarcity of resources. The COMPRE Program’s goal is to reduce the risk and vulnerabilities of children, families, indigenous people and other individuals in street situation and this entails the understanding of the meaningful task of touching lives and uplifting reality situations. Which the same, has always been our commitment not just the department but with you, our partners in the community,” Aranas said.

The COMPRE PROGRAM aims to facilitate activities that will strengthen the protection of children, families, and indigenous people in street situations and reduce the vulnerabilities and risks they may experience in the streets.
