As of June 30, 2024, 98.96% of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office (FO) Caraga’s Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program (SocPen) target beneficiaries have already received their pension for the first semester (January-June) of 2024, disbursing Php 1,096,686,000.00.

Regional Social Pension Unit (RSPU) Focal Person Ms. Sarah Rose Salingay extends gratitude to the Local Government Units (LGUs) across Caraga for their tireless efforts in supporting the Field Office as it implements the program for the indigent elderly community.

“𝘈𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘓𝘚𝘞𝘋𝘖𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨-𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 (Our gratitude to our partners from the Local Social Welfare and Development for the support that they give us to ensure that our indigent senior citizens receive their social pension),” Salingay said.

Furthermore, with guidance from the DSWD Central Office, the Social Pension payouts will transition from semestral (every 6 months) to quarterly (every 3 months) beginning July 2024.

“𝘋𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘪-𝘢𝘯𝘢, 𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘢𝘳𝘺𝘰 (We hope for your continued support for our upcoming payouts and ensure that we can give quality service to all of our beneficiares),” Salingay hopes as changes are to be implemented.

As the payouts continue for 2024, schedules are coordinated through the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) so they can further disseminate information to the beneficiaries.

Validation and revalidation on the other hand of senior citizen beneficiaries in different LGUs are ongoing to ensure accurate allocation of slots.

The Caraga Regional Social Pension Unit (RSPU) requests beneficiaries to stay at home and remain accessible to claim stipends to avoid delisting and for proper identification during validation. Moreover, RSPU sternly reminds everyone to follow official announcements from DSWD Field Office Caraga, LSWDOs, and the respective LGU’s Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).
