You reap, what you sow!
This was demonstrated by Gregoria Ordiz, President of the Dalao-an Farmers Association and a partner-beneficiary of Project LAWA and BINHI from Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.
Gregoria, a hardworking partner-beneficiary of the program, showcased the success of these initiatives by bringing her freshly picked variety of vegetables from their garden. Her efforts, alongside her group, resulted in a bountiful harvest and a Php7,400 pay for twenty days of diligent work.
The Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished or Project LAWA at BINHI, under the Risk Resiliency Program (RRP), is one of the key initiatives of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, aimed at ensuring that vulnerable communities have secure access to food and water during disasters.
This is a prime example of how community-focused programs change lives. It reinforces the core principle that the rewards one enjoys are a direct result of the efforts put in.
