The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga recently concluded its two-day activity dubbed “LAMBIGIT 2024. Organized by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps, LAMBIGIT highlighted the impact of three critical programs: 4Ps, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), and the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS).
On day 1, the LAMBIGIT Job Fair was launched in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education And Skills Development Authority, (TESDA), DSWD-SLP, and various private agencies from Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, and Lanuza.
The job fair provided job seekers with valuable opportunities to connect with potential employers. In addition, a Pre-Employment Seminar for fresh graduates and the unemployed was conducted, offering essential guidance for entering the workforce.
Day 2 saw the contest for the Barangays’ Best Table Skirting and Setup which encouraged creativity and teamwork, as participants collaborated to design visually appealing and thematic arrangements that showcased their community’s identity and spirit.
Talking to the attendees and beneficiaries present, DSWD Undersecretary for the National Household Targeting System (NHTS) and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Usec. Vilma Cabrera, emphasized community involvement and underscored the transformative effects of these programs on beneficiaries’ lives.
Notably, she announced that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the inclusion of a First 1000 Days grant for 4Ps beneficiaries who are pregnant, nursing, or those with two-year-old child.
4Ps Caraga Regional Program Coordinator Crislea Celeste also emphasized the importance of collaboration within communities and encouraged beneficiaries to persistently strive for improvement while supporting one another in her message.
The success of this two-day gathering was made possible through the collaborative efforts of local government units (LGUs) and barangay local government units (BLGUs) in Madrid. Equally vital was the active participation of beneficiaries from the 4Ps, SLP, and KALAHI-CIDSS programs.
LAMBIGIT 2024 reinforced DSWD’s commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of families across the region, leading to the ultimate goal of ending the cycle of intergenerational poverty in Caraga.
