Two associations of the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga participated in the Kadiwa Tu Bayugan, a Kadiwa ng Pangulo activity yesterday, September 13, at the Bureau of Agricultural Extension (BAEx), City Agriculture’s Office in Bayugan City, to demonstrate support for the 67th nationwide birthday celebration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Kadiwa ng Pangulo is part of the Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat, a nationwide delivery of government programs and services where several National Government Agencies (NGA) including the, Local Government Units (LGU), and their respective partners awarded cash assistance to qualified beneficiaries.
Both Osmeña Fruit Stand SLPA and Osmeña Consumer SLPA from Barangay Osmeña in the said city actively took part in the activity, presenting their agricultural products and other goods, including a selection of fruits, root crops, vegetables, and their Flavored Bingka.
“This is a great opportunity for us, especially for the SLPAs here in Bayugan. This gives us a wider platform to promote the products of our associations, which will certainly boost their income,” said Kenneth Atamosa, SLP Project Development Officer for Bayugan City, who facilitated the associations’ participation in the activity.
Furthermore, Atamosa also expressed the appreciation of the SLPAs for such an opportunity given to them.
“On behalf of Osmeña Fruit Stant SLPA and Osmeña Consumers SLPA, I am expressing our thanks to the LGU, involved agencies, and especially to our President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. for allowing us to participate and promote our products in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo. Best wishes for your birthday, Mr. President!” he added.
Kadiwa ng Pangulo allows local producers to exhibit their products, reach a broader market, and increase their sales and income potential. Moreover, the abovementioned SLPAs catered to a decent number of customers and boasted a fair amount of revenue during the activity.
