Response update for Tropical Storm Kristine.

In response to the urgent needs of families affected by Tropical Storm Kristine, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has

they mobilized augmentation support to assist affected communities across the Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte provinces.

The distribution of family food packs in Claver, SDN was led by the Angels in Red Vests from FO Caraga.

As of October 26, 2024, FO Caraga has augmented a total of 12,344 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to the following municipalities as part of its relief efforts:

 

Surigao del Norte:

  1. Claver, SDN – 1,131 FFPs
  2. Surigao City, SDN – 331 FFPs
  3. Malimono, SDN – 28 FFPs
  4. San Francisco, SDN – 304 FFPs
  5. San Benito – 530 FFPs
  6. Sison, SDN – 71 FFPs

 

Province of Dinagat Islands:

  1. Basilisa, PDI – 548 FFPs
  2. San Jose, PDI – 814 FFPs
  3. Tubajon, PDI – 714 FFPs
  4. Libjo, PDI – 5,668 FFPs
  5. Cagdianao – 2,100 FFPs
  6. Dinagat, PDI – 63 FFPs
  7. Loreto, PDI – 42 FFPs

Tropical Storm Kristine brought strong winds and heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread flooding and leaving families in urgent need of essential supplies and support. In response, DSWD Field Office Caraga activated its Quick Response Team (QRT) to closely monitor the situation and coordinate timely relief efforts for affected communities.
