In a joint effort with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Surigao del Norte, the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga is conducting a three-day Basic Digital Literacy Training on October 29-31, 2024 at DICT Provincial Training Center in Barangay Washington, Surigao City.
This training initiative, which brought together 30 local farmers and fishermen, aims to equip Community-Based Organization (CBO) members with essential digital skills to streamline their transactions and improve communication efficiency. Through this convergence, EPAHP organized the program to provide local CBO members with the digital tools needed for more effective operations and engagement in today’s digital economy.
DICT Provincial Officer Engr. Ricardo Bacolod Jr., along with Digital Transformation Center Manager Clark Jirves Consigna, is spearheading the three-day program. They work directly with participants and provide guidance and practical skills.
This collaboration exemplifies EPAHP’s commitment to strengthening the skills of CBOs in the region. Through partnerships with support from the pillar agencies, EPAHP is dedicated to empowering local farmers and fisherfolk, fostering growth, resilience, and sustainable development within their communities.
