The Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office CARAGA successfully completed 7 sub-projects worth Php4,979,677 to 7 Barangays of Mainit, Surigao del Norte, on September 17-27, 2024.

These sub-projects range from road concreting, improvement of concrete pathways, installation of public audio systems, and installation of solar-powered streetlights, funded through the KALAHI-CIDSS program in partnership with the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) and other stakeholders.

The turnover ceremonies was attended by Municipal Mayor Crisanta Mondano, Municipal Social Welfare & Development Officer Ann Mondano, Barangay Officials, Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) staff, and community volunteers.

Mayor Crisanta Mondano expressed his appreciation to the KALAHI – CIDSS program for facilitating community-driven development.

“Mapasalamaton me sa KALAHI – CIDSS nga naghatag og oportunidad sa katauhan para makatabang sa kalambuan sa ilang mga barangay (We are grateful to KALAHI-CIDSS for giving the people the opportunity to contribute to the development of their barangays).” Mayor Mondano remarked.

KALAHI-CIDSS is a program that uses a community-driven development strategy to ensure people-centered development by providing assistance, capacity-building, and implementation support to poverty-disadvantaged and disaster-affected municipalities.
