Program participants of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga received an overwhelming amount of grant in the Ceremonial Check Turnover and Awarding of Civil Society Organization (CSO) Accreditation Certificates on October 17, 2024, at Social Hall, Capitol Hills in Tandag City.
It benefited different sectoral groups, including indigenous people (IP), solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWD), among other sectors in the community.
“This is a chance we don’t want to waste. DSWD Caraga, alongside their local government units (LGU) partners, planned, crafted, and implemented programs to help us. Let’s help them in helping us transform and uplift our living conditions,” said Lower Bagyang SLPA President Datu Nerio Martinez Alimboyong during his acceptance message.
Moreover, several participants and association officers extended their appreciation to the agency, SLP, and their partners for granting them assistance.
“We felt immense pride and happiness for being one of the associations that benefited from this program. Thank you so much, DSWD, SLP, provincial LGU, the district office, and other partners of the program. We truly appreciate your untiring efforts to help the people of Surigao del Sur,” said Menchie Cambarihan of the Abante sa Kalambuan Maglambing SLP association.
This activity allows program participants to secure capital for their livelihood associations. In addition, SLP will not only be awarding financial aid to SLPAs but also technical assistance to their members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
